Toronto Mother's Day Outings
Looking for something fun to do this Mother's Day? I have some suggestions! Most of them are fun for all ages!
Distillery District Tour
If the weather is nice, a historic tour of the distillery district would be a fun thing to do with your mom outdoors. There are also seguay tours, which could be something fun to try. And grab lunch or a drink at one of the great patios afterwards!
ROM Exhibit
The Forbidden City: Inside the Court of China's Emperors
There has been big talk about this exhibit, with some of the items never having been out of China. I haven't had a chance to go yet, but am definitely going to go soon. I've heard great things about it, like how incredible the decor is. It would make a great outing with your Mom!
Art Gallery of Ontario
I got my Mom an AGO yearly membership with guest for Christmas this year. It's a good excuse to get together, and there are always interesting new exhibits. Throw in lunch or dinner and you have yourself an eventful day. The yearly membership with guest doesn't cost much more than the 2 of you going the one time, so that could make a good gift.
Toronto Zoo
The Toronto Zoo celebrates Mother's Day by highlighting some of its families.
If you're looking for something free, High Park Zoo and Riverdale Farm don't charge admission. And the surrouding areas are beautiful for walking.
Sporting Events
Blue Jays- are playing the Angels on Mother's Day this year, so if your Mom is a baseball fan this is an obvious choice! It's always a good time, and hopefully the weather will be nice enough to open the roof!
Toronto FC- are not playing on Mother's Day, but they do have home games the Wednesday before and after, so that could be a fun gift!
Brunch
Check out Blog T.O.'s "Best 50 Brunch Restaurants in Toronto" for some good suggestions. Mother's Day is a great excuse to try somewhere new! I've had brunch at Barque and can tell you that it is awesome! (Try the Caesar)
